Bench Press Less. You may be thinking that it Is the actual opposite of what we want to achieve but recovery is avery essential aspect in doing the bench press. Without adequate recovery (anywhere from 24-48 hours), you won’t see any size or strength benefits whatsoever. The take home lessen? Don’t do the bench press each and every time you’re in the gym, and certainly don’t do it every day.

Train to Failure. Take almost every bench pressing set to failure. What does this suggest exactly? This phrase implies that you have to continue doing bench presses until you cannot do yet another one. The last repetition should be a real struggle. You may need a spotter for this. It would be hard to do this when no one is assisting you.

How to Increase Bench Press

Utilize Further advancement. When it comes to fitness, progression is a great key to developing muscles. What is its relevance to bench press? Do not duplicate the routines. You must add more weight or amount. How will you develop any muscles if you will not increase anything? Work your butt out in doing this.

Sleep well. Just about all muscle growth and repair happens while you sleep. It goes without saying then that a good nights sleep is essential to muscle growth. Try to get a minimum of 8 hours a night for optimal results.

Incorporate negatives. Negatives are the decreasing part of a bench press (or any exercise). The concept here is to use incredibly heavy weight, up to1.5 times your single rep maximum. Your spotter should assist you when you are bringing the weight to the top but let them let it go when you start lowering it. Do not just enable the weight to tumble. Lift the weight as high as possible. You will surely be confused on how negatives will benefit your bench press.

Focus On Your Triceps. Your triceps play a big role in increasing bench press. You must develop your triceps well. Use big exercises like skull crushers, dips, and the close-grip bench press to strike your triceps hard. Don’t work them on the same day you work you chest either, work them when they’re fresh, this will make them more powerful in the long run.

Eat More. Muscle building and strength requires proper nutrition. By eating well, you will have the energy to do more. Not only that, but your muscles actually cannot grow unless you’re consuming enough food to give that growth.

Use Correct Technique. I’m a big promoter of being aware of your technique at all times. Most of the time, people lift weights in an improper form. Study the appropriate technique well. Start with little to no weight at all, master your technique, then work your way up from there. Using the correct technique allows you to see far better gains than using improper and potentially dangerous form.

Increase Your Grip Strength. Did you know that the harder you squeeze the bar while you bench, the more muscles you’re recruiting? Because of this, you can develop greater strength. If you want to develop grip strength, try doing farmer walk and wrist curls.

Create Back Muscles. I understand what you’re thinking, how the heck does your back relate to a bench press!? Well, in many cases in weight training, if you’re trying to dramatically increase strength of one area of your body, working the opposing muscles will allow you to see better gains on your target muscles, too. This is the way you develop your pectoral muscles.

Remember the 4 Points of Contact. The back of your head, your shoulders, your butt, and your feet should be securely planted in one situation and not move at all throughout the entire range of motion. Never ever remove your butt from the bench. This is connected to the next tip.

Plant Your Feet In The Ground. When your feet are grown on the ground, you will have the energy to do higher bench presses.

Flex back Well. Slightly arc your back to allow you to exert great power. BY doing this, you can release great power.

Hold Breath. As you’re pushing up the bar, try keeping your breath (unless you’re out of it). This provides you with added spinal strengthening and core stability, it’ll also protect your lower back.

Use Explosive Force. Make use of great force at the beginning of the exercise. It doesn’t matter if the bar doesn’t actually move that quickly. The important thing here is that you’re using maximum effort. When you do that, you can exert lesser energy yet you can lift a heavy weight.
